The products and services that are provided by P.E.L. are mainly welding, fabricating, cutting and other engineering related services.
The major commercially used welding processes, for example, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (S.M.A.W.), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (G.T.A.W.), Flux Cored Arc Welding (F.C.A.W.), Oxygen-Fuel Gas Welding (O.F.W.), Braze Welding (B.W.) and others are utilized as the need dictates. These processes are used in joining most of the commercially used metals that can be deemed to be common or exotic materials in the industry, for example, carbon steels, low chrome alloys, stainless steels, Duplex and Super Duplex Stainless Steels, aluminum, Zecor, etc. in all their various forms and shapes.
Another aspect of work that would be undertaken by P.E.L. is the development of Welding Procedure Qualification Records (W.P.Q.R.), Welding Procedure Specifications (W.P.S.), conducting Welder Performance Qualification Tests (W.P.Q.T.) and certification of the said welders under the various welding codes for other welding companies and welding institutions alike.
An In-House Metal Testing Laboratory is also being proposed to assist in the training regime in the future. It must also be able to undertake additional jobs in areas of metal testing.
P.E.L. would brand into its employees a sense of ownership for every bit of work that is performed at any time and at any place that work is conducted under its name. Health, safety and quality would be built into their psyche through continuous training, so that high quality output and associated low rework percentages would be satisfactorily achieved. We realize that unsafe practices and unnecessary rework of defective work by employees accounts for too great an increase in the production cost of any product. This care, therefore, would ultimately increase our competitiveness, efficiency and profitability.
The use of manual methods and processes would form our initial thrust in doing business as they form the bulwark of any business. These methods and processes would gradually give way to a more productive regime by using semi-automatic and automatic systems as the market conditions dictates whilst maintaining our safety and quality targets.
On an ongoing basis, Procedure Qualification Records (P.Q.R.’s) are developed for many companies in the construction and oil and gas servicing sector that needs to be provided with this service.
